RICHARD ARMSTRONG is a third party logistics expert who specializes in supply chain evaluation and outsourcing. Dick is the co-editor and publisher of Who’s Who in Logistics? Armstrong’s Guide to Global Supply Chain Management. He has over 20 years experience as a consultant, educator and motor carrier executive. He is licensed to practice before FMCSA and FMC. His publications cover the globalization of logistics, supply chain management, transportation operating efficiency and DOT regulations.

JIM BUTTS, Vice President, Transportation, of C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc., has been with the company since 1978, and joined the company’s executive team in 2002. Jim is responsible for the relationships with several key customers in the retail, consumer products, paper, manufacturing and agriculture industries, aiding them in logistics and supply chain systems design, including the use of third party logistics services in supply chain planning and execution.

GEOFFREY (GEOFF) A. BENNETT is the president and cco-founder of the Kelron Logistics family of companies, headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario. Kelron is one of Canada’s largest third party transportation logistics companies, with more than 110 employees working out of three operating locations in Canada, generating annual revenues approaching $100 million. Prior to founding Kelron, Mr. Bennett was a Director of Operations for Ontario’s largest dry cleaning chain, Sketchley Cleaners. His tenure in supply chain management also includes holding senior level positions in various transportation companies, including Director of Operations at Gelco Same Day (now Dynamex Express), one of North America’s largest same day and rush messenger, expedited and dedicated delivery networks.

DAVID J. CLOSS, Ph.D., LQ Executive Editor, is the John H. McConnell chaired Professor of the Eli Broad College of Business, Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management, Michigan State University. He has consulted with more than 100 of the world’s Fortune 500 corporations regarding logistics strategies and systems. He is an active member of Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP).

WILLIAM (BILL) L. CONLEY is President, ATC Logistics & Electronics, a subsidiary of Aftermarket Technology Corp. (ATC). He is responsible for overall leadership and management of this $250 million a year business, providing strategic vision for logistics and supply chain services from post-manufacturing to end of life for high-value, high-velocity and serialized products. Prior to joining ATC, Bill had an accelerated twenty-five year career with FedEx Corporation through sales/marketing and operations leadership. Bill earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics from the Parks College of St. Louis University and continued his professional development with executive programs with The Wharton School of Business. He is a member of the Wings Club, the Reverse Logistics Executive Council and the CSCMP.

JOHN M. CUTLER JR. is General Counsel of NASSTRAC and the Health & Personal Care Logistics Conference, and a frequent speaker on legal issues affecting transportation and logistics. He is the author of Rules of the Game: Legal and Regulatory Issues Facing the Supply Chain Manager, published in 2006 by CSCMP, and other publications. Mr. Cutler, who has 30 years experience in transportation law, is a principal with the Washington, DC law firm McCarthy, Sweeney & Harkaway, PC.

JIM DAVIDSON, CEO, Wheels Group, began his career in logistics at the Ford Motor Company in 1963, working in all aspects of logistics for 17 years. Mr. Davidson joined TNT in 1983 and held various management roles, including roles in operations, staff, administration and general management for a number of different divisions. He also served as the TNT board member representing North America at their European-based board meetings. He has served on the executive of the Canadian General Motors Supplier Council and as Executive Vice President of the ATA Council of Logistics located in Alexandria, Virginia.

RUSS DOAK is Global Logistics Director for Kodak Graphic Communications Group (GCG), a leading provider of graphic communications solutions worldwide. Russ has more than 20 years experience in supply chain management and logistics services/operations in senior corporate management positions for multinational companies with operations across five continents and numerous industries. His operational and strategic expertise covers international trade and customs, foreign logistics and warehousing, transportation, international procurement and strategic planning of global logistics systems. Russ is currently serving on the executive board of the CSCMP for the Toronto Roundtable and the advisory board of Logistics Quarterly. He was educated at UBCs Okanagan University in Arts and Science and at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in Marketing and International Trade. He holds designations in Transportation/Distribution from the University of Toronto and Logistics/Supply Chain from the Canadian Professional Logistics Institute and has completed the Executive in Residence Program for Logistics and Supply Chain at University of Waterloo.

JIM ECKLER is President and CEO of SCI Logistics Inc., the parent of Progistix- Solutions Inc., a supply chain management services provider for companies such as Bell Canada, Siemens, Pitney Bowes, and Xerox. Jim’s background includes over 30 years of experience in the supply chain management field. His business focuses on developing and operating supply chain outsourcing services for companies that demand complex, highvalue services. Jim is a graduate in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and in Management Science from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a past chairman of the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Canada and a frequent speaker on a wide range of supply chain topics. He is also a founding member and a Director of the Center for Outsourcing Research and Education.

DAVID FAORO is currently Director of Supply Chain for The International Group, Inc., a $400 million manufacturer of waxes and wax-based industrial products. In this role, he is responsible for customer service, purchasing, logistics and inventory management. For over 20 years, David has worked in all aspects of supply chain management in the chemical, food and beverage, office products and wholesale distribution sectors. David has his M.B.A. from the Ivey School of Business and his Bachelor of Commerce (Logistics) from the University of British Columbia. David is a Past- President of the Toronto chapter of the CSCMP and is a member of the Advisory Board of Logistics Quarterly.

BILL GRAVES, who served as governor of Kansas for eight years, is President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Trucking Associations, the largest national trade association for the trucking industry. Through a federation of other trucking groups, industry-related conferences and its 50 affiliated state trucking associations, ATA represents more than 37,000 members covering every type of motor carrier in the United States. JEFF HURLEY is Senior Vice President, Global Automotive, for CEVA Logistics North America. Jeff graduated from Michigan State University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree and in 1995 completed the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business Partnership Program. With more than 25 years in the industry, Jeff is a recognized leader in logistics operations. He began his career with a predecessor of CEVA, Customized Transportation, Inc., in 1985 as Manager of Sales and Marketing. Since that time, he has held several executive positions within the company.

JOHN LANGLEY JR., Ph.D., M.B.A., is Professor of Supply Chain Management and Director of Supply Chain Executive programs at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Langley is a former President of the Council of Logistics Management, and a recipient of the Council’s Distinguished Service Award. In 2004 he was honored as one of the profession’s top five logistics executives at the Richmond Events Logistics and Supply Chain Forum. He received his Ph.D. in Business Logistics from Penn State University.

KEITH MATTHEWS is Executive Vice President and Co-Chairman, as well as co-founder, of Kelron Logistics, one of Canada’s largest 3PL’s, with three transportation operating facilities for ondemand transportation and a 108,000 square foot warehouse and distribution facility. Along with being one of the top 25 freight brokers in the United States, Kelron Logistics is one of the top 36 3PL’s in North America. Keith heads up Kelron’s Sales and Marketing activities, which are more than $80 million annually, as well as leading the company’s Transportation Management Group, responsible for network design, implementation and execution of singlesource transportation solutions. During his tenure in the industry, Keith founded the Expedite Division of Dynamex Express in the late 80s. He also cofounded DDK Marketing Inc., a successful industrial/commercial air cleaning and air quality business. Keith has a background in computer programming and systems design and has earned his Logistics Executive Certification from the University of Tennessee.

JEFF MOORE is Managing Director of Lakeside Logistics Inc. The fifth generation in our industry, he carries on his family’s tradition of leadership and innovation in transportation. In partnership with Chris Magill, Mr. Moore founded Lakeside Logistics in 1986. In 1999, Mr. Moore and his partner repositioned Lakeside from the transaction-based freight business to a supply chain management company. Recently under Mr. Moore’s direction Lakeside has become the first logistics provider in Canada to declare itself carbon neutral under their “Vision Green” initiative. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration and holds the P.Log. designation. He is an active member of the CSCMP.

CHRISTOPHER D. NOREK, Ph.D., is a founding Senior Partner with Chain Connectors, Inc., an Atlanta-based supply chain consulting firm specializing in strategy, operations, technology, training and SMB supply chain transformation. He has been in the logistics field for over 20 years both in industry, with Accenture, Kimberly-Clark, Apple Computer and CSC, in academia as a professor at both Auburn University and the University of Tennessee. Dr. Norek has consulted for large firms including Lowe’s, SAP, Amazon.com, Accenture, Office Depot, Schneider National, Cingular Wireless, The Sports Authority and Party City. He also does focused work with SMB companies including Malt-O-Meal, Chatsworth Products and ADCO Products. He has been active in publishing for journals in the field and in professional associations, including CSCMP and NASSTRAC, where he is Education Chair. Dr. Norek holds supply chain/logistics degrees from Penn State, Tennessee, and Ohio State.

MICHAEL REGAN is CEO and Chairman of the Board, TranzAct Technologies, Inc., a company he co-founded in 1984. TranzAct Technologies provides logistics decision support technology and expertise that enables companies to lower their transportation costs and generate significant savings through sound logistics solutions. Mike serves as Chairman of the American Society of Transportation & Logistics and on the boards of numerous industry groups. He is the Chairman of the Advocacy Committee for NASSTRAC.

MIKE RIEGLER is a Director for Industry Solutions Marketing covering the Travel and Logistics Services (T&LS) industries at SAP and has 20 years supply chain experience ranging from the LSP industry to technology and software solutions. He is responsible for the global LSP industry solution positioning and messaging at SAP. He has worked on supply chain and logistics projects around the globe while working in the LSP industry and in consulting, implementation and marketing roles at SAP, Oracle and G-Log. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Japanese from the University of Notre Dame and also studied at Sophia University in Japan.

KURT RITCEY, Partner, Deloitte, is a management consultant and specializes in improving supply chain operations for clients in many industries including manufacturing, consumer business and energy. He has directed improvement projects throughout the supply chain, including strategic sourcing, e-procurement, demand management, inventory management, distribution and warehouse operations. In addition to work in Canada and the U.S., Kurt has worked in Hong Kong, Germany and Mexico. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Civil Engineering from Queen’s University and an M.B.A. from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario.

ROBERT SHAUNNESSEY has been Executive Director of the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC) since 2003 and has worked in the distribution industry for more than 30 years. He was a founder and partner of third party logistics provider Sterling Logistics Corporation. Earlier in his career, he served as President and CEO of Records Management Services, and President of Midwest Distribution for ITEL-GATX Administration for DSC Logistics.

TIM SPEED, Vice President North, UTi Americas Freight Forwarding, joined UTi as the leader of the Canadian freight forwarding business in August 2006. Prior to that he was President, Exel Freight Management, Canada, where he took that company to a market leadership position in the provision of integrated supply chain solutions. Tim’s 38 years of industry experience includes sales, training and operations positions as well as 30 years as a business unit leader. Tim worked in both the U.K. and Asia before moving to Canada 27 years ago.
