The Council of Logistics Management's Tours

Scheduled for the Oct. 17-20, 1999, Conference in Toronto, Ontario.
In addition to a series of concurrent sessions to enhance the knowledge of logistics managers from around the world, the Council has also assembled this series of dynamic tours.
National Logistics Services (NLS) Dixie Distribution Centre., Oct. 18, 1999: With some 400,000 square feet of working space, this NLS building is the central distribution point for some of the largest apparel chains in Canada.
Canadian Pacific Railway, Oct 18: This tour provides an overview of how CPR is using intermodal technologies and terminal process designs to meet the needs of intermodal customers.
A.J. Billes Distributions Centre, Oct. 18, 1999: Canadian Tire is a leading retailer of automotive parts and sports, leisure and home products, with more than 430 stores across Canada. This 1.2 million square-foot facility has 12.5 miles of conveyor and 74 shipping lines.
Customized Transportation, Inc., Oct. 18, 1999: This new 322,000 square-foot facility in Bramalea, Ontario, (featured in this issue of LQ on page 13) operates as an extension of the DaimlerChrysler plant.
Purolator Courier Ltd., Oct. 18, 1999: This tour affords a look at what goes on behind the scenes at one of Canada's leading-edge overnight couriers at the company's hub - where more than one million international and domestic parcels are processed daily.
National Logistics Services (NLS) Enterprise Distribution Centre, Oct. 19, 1999: This 206,000 square-foot distribution centre has 38 receiving/shipping doors, two three-level pick towers and a high-speed carton sorter.
Source Medical (An ADS & Allegiance Company), Oct. 19 1999: Source Medical's Central Regional Distribution Centre is a multipurpose 250,000 square-foot facility that serves the company's hospital supply business in Canada, distributing more than 15,000 products to locations across Canada.
Pegasus Wholesale, Inc., Oct. 19 1999: This tour provides a glimpse into Canada's highest volume book distribution center, that supports retail and online distribution with is 306,000 square-foot distribution centre, as well as another 24,000 square feet of mezzanine space.
Canada Post, Oct. 19, 1999: This tour includes a look at this organizations state-of-the-art letter processing and bulk-mail facilities.
Liquor Control Board of Ontario, Oct. 19, 1999: This government agency is one of the largest buyers of wine and spirits in the world. Its main warehouse in Durham serves approximately 600 retail outlets and institutional customers.
Progistix Solutions Incorporated, Oct. 19, 1999: This tour shows one of Canada's largest third party logistics providers specializing in technnology.
