Royal Cargo: The First Canadian Airline with ISO 9002 Certification
As the first airline in Canada to attain the International Organization for Standards (ISO) 9002 certification, Royal Cargo Inc.s customers have already started to benefit from heightened levels of service through the practice of these internationally recognized quality management procedures.
The overnight network has been operating better than a well-tuned Rolex watch, says Royal Cargos customer Bill Mazhar, National & International Linehaul Manager, Loomis Courier Service. Many of Royal Cargos top clients have also noted that there has been continuous enhancements to the airlines performance since the inauguration of the 12-month ISO 9002 certification process.
ISO 9002 certification, based on an internationally accepted system of rating quality management and assurance, has been applied to Royal Cargo Inc.s air cargo operations to ensure the highest quality of its services to its diverse group of clients, which includes many major couriers, forwarders and manufacturers. As a result of certification, Royal Cargo has instituted a new Quality System that affords detailed guidelines and standardized procedures to meet the specific needs of each client on every flight and in all facets of its operations.
Royal Cargo operates a fleet of all-cargo Boeing 737 and 727 aircraft on a scheduled basis across Canada.
Canadian Importers Conference
Our highways are to be the rivers of trade in the 21st century, noted David Bradley, CEO, Canadian Trucking Alliance, to delegates attending the Canadian Importers Association mid-October Annual General Meeting in Toronto, Ontario. But Canadas highways have suffered from three decades of national neglect, he said.
Up to 11 million trucks cross between Canada and the United States annually and an estimated 30,000 trucks criss-cross the border daily moving approximately 70 percent of the trade between the two countries.
Increased trade can no longer be an unfunded policy, he said, adding, a national infrastructure policy and an estimated $17 billion is required to maintain Canadas roadways. Without such a policy and greater financial commitment it is likely well see a slow strangulation of our trade, Bradley concluded.
