Acklands-Grainger Inc's New President

Douglas J. Harrison has recently become the president of Acklands-Grainger Inc.

Mr. Harrison was formerly vice-president and managing director (Canada and Europe) of Ryder Integrated Logistics.

Mr. Harrison was honored in 1999 with the Premier’s Award and in 1998 was chosen as one of Canada’s Top 40 Business Leaders Under 40.

A member of numerous business associations, Mr. Harrison also serves on the Board of Directors of the United Way and the Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation (CITT). He is a graduate of Mohawk College’s Business Administration Program, the CITT, and will be graduating shortly with his MBA from Heriot-Watt University (Scotland).

Mr. Harrison was one of the first Canadians to earn his Professional Logistician (P.Log.) designation from the Canadian Professional Logistics Institute.

Yellow Freight System, Inc. Appoints to Area General Managers

Mark Curruth was recently appointed Area General Manager for Ontario, responsible for terminals in Windsor, St. Catherines, London, Cambridge, Toronto, Oshawa and Kingston. Mr. Carruth has been associated with the company for ten years and played a major role in developing Yellow’s business in Atlantic Canada.
Steve McGowan (left) has been appointed YFS’s Area General Manager for Eastern Canada. With more than 19 years with YFS, Mr. McGowan is now responsible for YFS terminals in Ottawa, Ontario, Montreal, Granby, Drummondville, Stanhope and Quebec City, Quebec, and the terminals in Moncton, New Brunswick, and Halifax, Nova Scotia.
