Schenker Integrated Logistics Center Rotterdam’s New Hub


Schenker AG officially opened its new Schenker Integrated Logistics Center this September at the Port of Rotterdam. At the opening, Dr. Jörg Biesemann, Member of the Board of Management of Schenker AG, said: “This very new Schenker Integrated Logistics Center is one of the most important gateways in our global logistics network. For our overseas clients it is a gateway to Europe, and for the global flow of goods it offers a flexible infrastructure for a multitude of logistic services.”

Theo C. Damen, Managing Director of Schenker International Nederland B.V. added: “Those who exercise foresight in these times of e-commerce, Internet and value-added logistics services need this modern location.” This area will soon become the heart of the port.

Today, Schenker’s Rotterdam Centre covers of 50,000 square meters, and an option granted by the port authorities for a further 40,000 square meters will allow the company to almost double this area.

In addition, the IT competence embodied by Schenker in Rotterdam is an important module of the company’s overall product range.

Theo Damen elaborated: “The port-oriented nature of our new Schenker Integrated Logistics Center differentiates us from other locations. We have devised innovative concepts which allow us to exploit the advantages of this location and are constantly developing a multi-functional range of services which can be directly adapted to meet all customer requirements while using state-of-the-art technology and an open Warehouse Management System.”
