Steve Phillips, Sr. Vice President of Operations, Werner Enterprises.Steve Phillips is the Senior Vice President of Operations for Werner Enterprises. Steve joined Werner Enterprises in 1988 and has held positions of increasing responsibility within the organization. In 2004, he was named Vice President – Customer Service and was promoted to Vice President of the Van Network in 2006. In January 2008, he assumed his current role of Senior Vice President of Operations, in which he is responsible for driver, equipment, security, terminal and sustainability management. Through his oversight of Werner Enterprises' sustainability initiatives, the company has saved over 30 million gallons of fuel and has reduced its carbon footprint by 350,000 tons in the past three years.

Steve also serves on the Board of Directors of the North American Council for Freight Efficiency and as a member of the SmartWaySM Transport Partnership representing Werner Enterprises. He resides in Omaha, Neb., with his wife Jane and his two children, Ryan and Brooke.
